Location: Nuneaton

Salary: up to £35k

Job Type: Full time, permanent, Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm and Friday 7.00am - 1.00pm. Overtime is available.

The Role:

Our client, in Nuneaton, we are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our expanding team.

This is a great opportunity for a Quality Engineer who can manage fast paced engineering projects and complete inspection reports; and who is also an experienced hands-on Quality Inspector, experienced with quality measurements and reading engineering drawings.

The ideal candidate would be from the sheet metal fabrication industry.

Key responsibilities and skills:

  • Perform quality inspection on fabricated parts by interpreting, measuring and verifying mechanical dimensions and tolerances of parts according to engineering drawings and procedures using standard measuring tools and equipment

  • Perform first off, in-process (patrol inspection) and final inspections of parts

  • Work with height gauges, depth gauges, calipers, micrometers and other inspection tools

  • Program, set and operate Mitutoyo CMM

  • Perform inspection of work orders by interpreting drawings and verifying job sequences

  • Notify Management of detected non-conformances and inspection findings via reports and/or verbal communication

  • Generate documentation that details the non-conformances found that warrant repair or remake

  • Prepare inspection/test reports as and when required and maintain inspection files

  • Liaise and work closely with Production Manager and Production Supervisors

  • Perform tool calibration

  • Possess very good hands-on abilities, proficient in quality inspecting parts using various engineering inspection tools such as micrometers, verniers, gauges, height gauges, torque measuring equipment, Mitutoyo CMM, Faro Arm etc.

  • Possess knowledge and working experience of the quality management systems for ISO9001.

  • Some knowledge and experience of Project Management and NPI is advantageous

  • Able to write level 2 and level 3 PPAP document

  • Must have great interpersonal and communication skills across the organizational levels

  • Professional attitude and approach, able to build positive relationships with customers

  • IT literate -Word, Excel, Power Point

  • Possess UK driving license, and able to commute to Nuneaton
