Optima are supporting an award-winning law firm based in Birmingham central who are looking to recruit a Finance Manager due to internal progression. The position of Finance Manager calls for an individual who will contribute to the seamless operation of the practice by managing the diverse financial transactions stemming from the Firm's activities and internal functioning. The perfect candidate will aid in the efficient and prompt operation of the Finance Department, guaranteeing the delivery of suitable services to the Firm's clients and all internal departments. We are ideally looking for candidates who have worked within the legal sector. This position will have reporting responsibilities to the Finance Director.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Finance Manager

• Oversee and perform daily functions related to the financial and accounts aspects of the firm.

• Supervise and manage tasks within the Finance Department, delegating as needed for smooth operations.

• Manage the cashiering team on a daily basis, including conducting appraisals.

• Ensure continuous adherence to the Solicitors Accounts Rules.

• Process client matters through the Finance Department, maintaining proper records.

• Ensure timely completion of monthly billing and month-end closings.

• Uphold professional standards.

• Communicate financial and Finance Department information to fee earners and staff as relevant.

• Comprehend client needs and apply expertise to transactions accordingly.

Requirements for the Finance Manager

• Familiarity with working under the Solicitors Regulation Authority's purview.

• Proficiency in the requisite skills for the Finance Manager role, encompassing effective communication with fee earners, clients, and suppliers, as well as upholding the firm's established standards.

• Capacity for cooperative work within the Finance team.

• Prior experience in a comparable Finance Manager position, ideally within a legal practice.
