CNC Cylindrical Grinder Setter / Operator

Salary: £34,000.00-£38,000.00 per year OTE

Shifts: 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm and 10pm - 6am Rotating, plus unlimited overtime paid at Time and a half.

Location: Nottingham

The Company:

A global business specialising in the manufacture, design, and development of parts for the aerospace industry.

CNC Cylindrical Grinder Setter/Operator duties:

• Set and operate CNC Grinding machinery.

• Must have some understanding in using Fanuc / Siemens machine controls.

• Interpret drawings and review quality specifications, ensuring parts are produced to customer requirements and company quality specifications.

• Following Operation Sheets, allowing parts to progress through the factory on time and on the correct pathway.

• Carrying out quality checks on own work using measuring equipment such as micrometres, verniers, gauges etc, to ensure the part is produced to drawing specification.

• Fully skilled machinists will also be responsible for training, mentoring, and inducting less experienced Machine Operators, assisting them with resolving machining issues, to ensure optimum productivity and to promote good employee relations.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues in other departments to support achievement of Customer and Company targets, objectives, and goals.

• Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, ensuring guidelines are followed in accordance with the Company Health & Safety policy and legislative requirements.

• Any other duties that may reasonably be required by the Company from time to time.

Essential Skills of a CNC Cylindrical Grinder Setter/Operator:

• Mechanical Apprentice trained or qualified by experience.

• Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with internal and external parties at all levels.

• Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, with guidance and supervision.

• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.

Desirable Skills of a CNC Cylindrical Grinder Setter/Operator:

• Prior experience/ Knowledge of the Aerospace industry.
