Quality Inspector

Shifts: 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

2 x 15-minute and 1 x 30-minute paid breaks.

Salary: £12.00 - £15.00 per hour, (Dependent on experience),

Overtime: Up to 6 hours = x1.25, 7 hours+ = x1.5

The Company:

A global manufacturer specialising in precision engineered parts for multiple industries.

Quality Inspector Responsibilities:

  • Performs first-Off, Patrol and final inspections, as directed.

  • Program/operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).

  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications.

  • Visually inspect components for surface defects

  • Recommend rejection, rework, or re-test, as required.

  • Reports inspection findings and results on the computer in MRP system

  • Generates non-conforming material reports (NCR) for items non-conforming items.

  • Maintain records and prepares all paperwork relating to inspection and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR's).

  • Produce FAIR's as and when required.

  • Maintain adequate measuring equipment and inspection fixture requirements.

  • Makes recommendations for improvements, where needed.

  • Supports the continuing 5-S and Lean manufacturing initiatives.

Essential Skills of a Quality Inspector:

  • Experience interpreting and working to customer drawings and specifications.

  • Good understanding of First Principal measurement techniques

  • Experience using measuring equipment.

  • Good knowledge of FAIR process

  • Ability to operate a CMM.

Desirable Skills of a Quality Inspector:

  • Prior experience / knowledge of the Aerospace industry.
