Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

Salary: £25k - £35k

Job Type: Full Time / Permanent

The Role

To effectively coordinate the logistics and systems required to deliver the rail products while learning from the Project Managers and a willingness to take on responsibility.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Strong emphasis on assisting and learning from the Rail team

  • To gain knowledge of the products being manufactured and grow in understanding

  • Coordination of orders, including delivery notes, raising project folders, administration of drawings, issuing drawings, maintaining drawing registers

  • Archiving project folders and information

  • Liaise with customers as required, relevant to progressing job orders

  • Coordination and chasing of incoming materials

  • Supporting the planning of logistics customer orders

  • Assisting with logistical planning for finishing (galv and paint)

  • To complete administrative tasks of Manufacturing Record books for traceability

  • To log and control documents such as drawings and specifications

  • To create and distribute delivery notes and Certificates of Conformity

The Candidate

  • Have an efficient and organised mind

  • Keen IT skills and knowledge in Excel and Word

  • Ability to work well with others

  • Logistical planning - using spreadsheets to track information

  • Understanding of Engineering drawings (desirable - can be learned with training and experience)

  • Punctual, Committed and Proactive

  • Excellent communication skills - internally with other departments, externally with suppliers and customers

  • Ability to carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision and thrive both on own initiative and as part of a team.

  • Developing skills and experience to progress to Project Management
