The Role

We are currently looking to recruit for a Quality R&M Engineer who will be responsible to define the reliability and maintainability (R&M) requirements for the product, maintain an adequate R&M program, and perform appropriate analysis and tasks to ensure the product will meet the defined requirements.

This position requires experience in developing through life-cycle R&M strategies on automotive acquisition programmes and an ability to apply and deliver R&M principles and processes to complex engineering systems.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Analyze equipment design for reliability and maintainability (R&M) design aspects

  • Provide feed-back to the design team related to trade-offs and issues regarding R&M

  • Review, analysis and interpret data on selected equipment for R&M performance and determine suitability. Prepare planning documents and understand customer requirements and expectations.

  • Ensure quality through adherence to the Quality Systems Manual, applicable Standard Work Instructions, and other standards invoked internally or contractually.

  • Participate in the development of Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) plans and related analysis, co-ordinate and execute reliability/maintainability analysis.

  • Compilation of detailed technical data for submission to the client working within restricted timeframes and budgets.

  • When required supports continuous improvement activities i.e. Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma projects, value engineering, lean manufacturing, etc.

  • When required lead and/or support internal/external 8D investigation to conclusion.

  • Identify opportunities and recommend changes that improve productivity, reduce cost, eliminate waste and improve the reliability and maintainability performance.

  • Act as the key interface with the Supply Chain and customer on all matters of R&M.

  • Generate documents and maintain records of analysis as applied to multiple complex automotive acquisition programmes

The Candidate

  • Data and document control requirements

  • Conduct PFMEA's & FMEA's

  • Knowledge in the use of six sigma tools

  • Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) (Excel advanced level)

  • Use of appropriate interpersonal style(s) and communication methods to work effectively with project teams

  • 2/3 Year experience in Quality
