CMM Programmer

Job Title: CMM Programmer (ref: 21768)

Location: Nottingham

Salary: £35k - £45k

Job Type: Full Time / Permanent (8.15am - 5pm Mon - Thursday, 8.15am - 1.45pm Friday)

The Role

Your role will be to support ME Planning Dept as the final gate to Model / Drawing verifications prior to manufacturing and support rectifications where required. Create CMM programmes for NPI and Legacy improvements (utilising PC DMIS), whilst also supporting CMM failures by delving into and analysing results to support manufacturing.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Work within the Engineering Dept with Planning team to verify NPI / Legacy change management Modelling and Drawings of all stages to finish part prior to shop floor release.

  • Create CMM programmes for NPI and Legacy change management to support all stages to finish part

  • Support machinist / Programming Engineers whilst in proving out first article production of new parts, program transfers or re-programmed parts where feasible.

  • Open dialogue with machinists / programming engineers relative to continuous improvement of part programs with relevant ECR's for beneficial drawing amendments.

  • Support implementation / improvements of Automation opportunities where feasible.

  • Maintain process driven Engineering changes ensuring QMS enforced.

  • Create clear communication and reporting to Engineering Manager, Track Deadlines and timescales accordingly.

The Candidate

  • Qualified Time served Engineer with Minimum 5yrs experience.

  • Experience using PC DMIS Software is a must

  • Setting and Operating small to large CMM Machines

  • Must understand technical data, drawings, and diagrams.

  • Interpreting specifications, sketches / drawings / models, or similar documents.

  • Using Quality tools such as MSA, PFMEA, SPC, Gauge R&R.

  • Must understand aerospace manufacturing processes.

  • NPI experience is ideal.
